Charlie's Excellent Adventure

Late August, 2012, Charlie Hyde invited Dave, Leroy and me for a grand six-day motorcycle road ride. Our ride went through parts of Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

We also stopped at the American Motorcyclist Association headquarters in Pickerington, Ohio and checked out what was new at the museum since our last visit. The tribute to Bruce Ogilvie was very impressive.

Our guide for the Ohio part of the ride was Jim Keeny, a man who knows more about back roads of Ohio than the Auto Club.

Our ride took us past off-road legend, Mark Hyde's house where we drooled on the new KTM's. Mark rode with us the following day.

On the fourth day of the ride we were joined by members of the Ohio Valley BSA Owners Club for an eighty-mile ride from Charlie's home. Bud and Barbara Kubena provided Dave, Leroy and me with some magnificently restored British iron to ride.

I got a chance to pose on Barbara's "Girly Bike" while she looked on ........ Worried!

The scenery was incredible!

Five days in the saddle, 1000 miles, and great times with good friends!

Charlie's dogs, Kinzie, Mally and Hattie enjoyed the ride too!
